In order to study the effect of acupuncture, moxibustion and laser beam acupuncture on the pain induced by acetic acid in isotonic saline solution, each stimulation was applied respectively at the loci of Cheon-Chu(S_(25)), Yang-Gu(S_(34)) and Eum-Leung-Cheon(Sp_9) in mice.
Analgesic effect of acupuncture, moxibustion and laser beam acupuncture was studied by counting the number of writhing syndrome.
The following results have been obtained.
1. Acupuncture made an analgesic effect on Cheon-Chu(S_(25)), Yang-Gu(S_(34)) and Eum-Leung-Cheon(Sp_9) in mice respectively, and acupuncture on Cheon-Chu(S_(25)) showed the most remarkable analgesic effect.
2. Moxibustion made an analgesic effect on Cheon-Chu(S_(25)), Yang-Gu(S_(34)) and Eum-Leung-Cheon(Sp_9) in mice respectively, and moxibustion on Cheon-Chu(S_(25)) showed the most remarkable analgesic effect.
3. Laser beam acupuncture made an analgesic effect on Cheon-Chu(S_(25)), Yang-Gu(S_(34)) and Eum-Leung-Cheon (Sp_9) in mice respectively, and laser beam acupuncture on Yang-Gu(Sp_9) showed the most remarkable analygesic effect.
4. Moxibustion group represented the most remarkable analgesic effect among acupuncture, moxibustion and laser beam acupuncture.
According to the above results, it is concluded that acupuncture, moxibustion and laser beam acupuncture respectively at the loci of Cheon-Chu (S_(25)), Yang-Gu (S_(34)) and Eum-Leung-Cheong(Sp_9) showed the significant analgesic effect on the pain in mice and that moxibustion represented the most remarkable analgesic effect.
